Killer Crocodile (1989)
I have to admit that unlike most everyone I know, I’m not a big fan of Jaws. I strolled into it at eleven or twelve years old, and thought it was too long, not bloody enough, and the shark looked fake. Years later, I could say that I enjoyed the cast and the acting is top notch, but the kid in me still wished I’d have walked into a bloodier and more low budget film that day. I do however enjoy low budget “Jaws” rip-offs - especially the Italian productions - and that’s what you get with Killer Croc. Dumb. Sleazy. Cheesy. Gory. Everything I wanted 40+ years ago and didn’t get. When a humongous crocodile begins chomping down on a tropical island community, a group of dim-wit environmentalists clash with a crusty old redneck out to kill the toxic waste spawned monster. Includes interviews with effects artist Giannetto De Rossi and others, and trailer. DVD
