Piranha (1978)

Being a guy who really didn’t like “Jaws” as a kid because it was overly long and the shark looked as fake as fake can look, I must say that I loved Piranha - and still do! Joe Dante’s gory and fun horror outing isn’t overly long, and the Rob Bottin ‘n Chris Walas effects hold up well. Plus, having Barbara Steele, Kevin McCarthy, Bradford Dillman, Dick Miller, Belinda Balaski and Paul Bartel in the cast sure doesn’t hurt either.
