Concert promoter, Bill Graham, took over and booked bands in the legendary San Francisco music and dance hall, Fillmore West from 1966 until 1971, giving a ton of 60s and early 70s bands their first break to perform in front of a crowd and the opportunity to record in the Fillmore as well as the Winterland (along with his New York venue, Fillmore East). Here we have a nice collection of original Fillmore West (and Winterland) concert posters from some of the concerts that Bill Graham promoted until he closed the Fillmore West and East in 1971.

Radio Spot Apocalypse 7 : Classic LP Record Commercials
Classic LP Record Commercials from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s - Once upon a time, radio was king. You wouldn’t own a car that didn’t have an FM radio in it in the 1970‘s and when you weren't in your car, you carried a portable radio with you. As the title implies, Radio Spot Apocalypse Volume 7 is a collection of radio commercials that advertised a musician or bands latest LP Record, tape… or 8-Track.
You’ll find radio commercials for 130 different “new release” LP records from bands like The Allman Brothers, The Band, Alice Cooper, The Byrds, Canned Heat, Deep Purple, The Guess Who, Jethro Tull, Harry Nilson, Paul Revere and The Raiders, The Raspberries, Ike and Tina Turner, ZZ Top, and so many others. You’ll also find a few concert spots, PSA’s and bands doing various commercials for assorted products to fill out this two disc collection. Total running time (2 discs) is 158 minutes of musical mayhem.

Yes indeed, here we have a two CD collection of 1960’s and 70’s bands and recording artists doing radio jingles and commercials for Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper and 7-Up. 132 total radio spots sung by the likes of Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, the Coasters, Delaney and Bonnie, Neil Diamond, Aretha Franklin, Three Dog Night, The Moody Blues, and so many others.
Who doesn’t remember “Things Go Better With Coke”, “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing” or “It’s The Real Thing” Coke ads. What about those “Pepsi Pours It On”, You’re The Pepsi Generation” or “You’ve Got A Lot To Live And Pepsi’s Got A Lot To Give” radio spots?
