Herschell Gordon Lewis & The Amazing Pink Holes

Ultra Limited Edition 45 Record - The Godfather of gore, H.G. Lewis, appeared at the October 4 - 6, 2002 Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo outside Cleveland, Ohio for the first of several times. CW Show promoter, Ken Kish, wrangled Mr. Lewis to sing vocals on a couple of his self written movie theme songs backed by Cleveland fellow friends from the Cleveland punk band, (Les Black’s) Amazing Pink Holes, and on Monday, October 7th, with Lewis’ blessing, they did just that and covered THE SOUTH’S GONNA RISE AGAIN (from Two Thousand Maniacs) and MOONSHINE MOUNTAIN (From Moonshine Mountain, naturally). In early 2004 Smog Veil Records issued a limited edition (of 500 copies) “blood splattered” clear vinyl 45 record that quickly sold out. Pink Holes guitarist, Bob Richey, uncovered 18 over-run copies of the record stashed away in a closet, and told us at CW to put out a “xerox” band quickie like he’d do with over-runs back in the day. NOPE. No “quickie” B&W xerox copy here. Yes, it’s still an over-run edition, and we didn’t run out and make brand new artwork for 18 copies, but we did put together brand new front cover artwork featuring H.G. Lewis that was taken at the October 4 - 6, 2002 CW Show as well as using the slightly altered back cover art (by Bob Richey) that was used on the original press of 500. These are it. The last 18 original run “blood spattered” 45s. Signed and numbered (by Ken Kish, who did the new art) in “old school” xerox-style packaging. When they are gone, they are gone for good.
