Now all grown up, the demented Gregory has become a murderous ice cream man who delivers mysterious treats as well and killer tricks. Hard to believe so many name actors needed a pay check at the same time, but look around and you’ll find the likes of Sandahl Bergman, Olivia Hussy, David Naughton and what looks like a noticeably half drunk Jan Michael Vincent among the cast. It’s up to a outcast college kid and a hard-nosed cop (Tom Atkins) to stop the invasion before it spreads. Director Fred Dekker’s homage to 50’s sci-fi and horror films is also one of the best horror films the 1980’s had to offer - and it’s on Blu-ray DVD. Blu-ray Disc - There were more than a few killer kid films in the 1970’s and 80’s but none were as much fun as The Pit. Jamie is not a likable kid. He’s downright creepy, has a weird obsession with sex, a horrible haircut, and his only friend is an evil Teddy bear that talks to him. Even his parents see he’s not right, so when they decide to go out of town, they leave the creepy kid at home with a babysitter. Jamie discovers a pit out in the woods near his house, and someTHING is living down deep in at the bottom of the hole. He begins by tossing meat and food stuff down the hole, but runs out of money to feed the hungry critters. One day, his Teddy bear has a better idea… Get rid of the people you don’t like by tossing them down the pit. And the fun begins. Remastered in HD, this release also includes commentary by two guys who had nothing to do with making the film, several interviews and a trailer gallery.
