The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Poster Signed
Director Tobe Hooper’s cannibal horror classic changed horror films forever. Rolled 24x36 reprint poster (from 1988) features the original one-sheet artwork. It’s signed in black by the “cannibal family” - Edwin Neal, Jim Siedow (1920 - 2003), Gunnar Hansen (1947 - 2015), and John Duggan; along with the film’s lone survivor, Marilyn Burns (1949 - 2014). It was signed in person on April 23. 1994 at the poorly attended Vintage Poster Auction in Cleveland Ohio, so it’s a rare one with an in person Jim Siedow autograph, who did very few appearances before he passed away.Manson, Charles
(1934 - 2017) - Infamous cult leader spent most of his life behind bars. Here we have a rare B&W 8x10” photo of Manson holding his prized hand-decorated acoustic guitar that was destroyed while in prison. He’s doing his best “rock star” with dark sunglasses on. It’s boldly signed in black by Charles Manson. The photo was signed in 1998 or 1999 and obtained from the estate of serial killer collector Steve Drasil (whom we at CW first met in the early 1990s) when Drasil passed away. We thought we were sold out of these but discovered one behind the photo we kept for the Wasteland collection when we were putting other autographs away, so one last autographed photo left. 2-Signature Photo - Here we have a 14x11 B&W photo of pop culture icon (and popular pin-up model) Bettie Page (1923 - 2008) posing for a camera club on Miami Beach in 1954. Photographer (and model) Bunny Yeager (1929 - 2014) took the photo. The photo is nicely signed by Bunny Yeager and Bettie Page and double matted to an overall 17x14 size for easy framing and display. We obtained the photo directly from Bunny Yeager, who used to act as her middleman when fans wanted autographs. When Bettie passed away in 2008, we bought a small stack of signed photos from her and have had a few stuck away since.- New!
Romero, George
(1940 - 2017) - Writer, director George Romero created zombie films as we know them when he directed the original Night of the Living Dead (1968). Here we have George Romero signed on a NOTLD “border card” trading card in blue sharpie - it’s a trading card with no picture, but the border to the original NOTLD trading card set that was a cut out on the sheet of cards and usually thrown away. We were given a stack of these border cards by John Russo, who produced and printed the card set, and they were signed at the 1993 25th Anniversary Night of the Living Dead show in Pittsburgh, PA. It’s matted along with a couple B&W photos of George directing Judy O’Dea’s “Barbara” as she runs from Bill Hinzman’s zombie and matted to an overall 10x14 size.

(1875 - 1950) - Author and creator of Tarzan, John Carter of Mars, etc. Signed on a personal check (#B 809, for $12.26 and dated 2/16/46) and matted with two B&W photos of Burroughs to an overall 20x18 size.

The French photo booklet, Dario Argento: The Shadow Shower (1988). Part of the French Horror Pictures Collection, a series of photo booklets released in the late 1980s and early 1990s. 6.25x9.36” booklet, 32 printed pages (and a color center page) featuring photos and poster art from the early career of Argento: Bird With the Crystal Plumage, Four Flies on Grey Velvet, Deep Red, Suspiria, Inferno, Tenebre, etc. Signed on the front cover by Dario Argento in black, and on page 23 by Irene Miracle in black on a photo of her from Inferno. Part of the French Horror Pictures Collection, a series of photo booklets released in the late 1980s and early 1990s. 6.25x9.36” booklet, 32 printed pages (including 6 color pages) featuring photos and poster art from: Phenomena, Demons, Demons 2, Opera, and some of his early films revisited. Signed on the front cover by Dario Argento in black (who looks like he might have brushed his hand across the bottom of the “A” in Argento), and on page 15 by Irene Miracle in black on a photo of her from Inferno. Promo photo for the 55th Annual Academy Awards held on April 11, 1983, signed by 11 people, including Florence Henderson, Erik Estrada, Anne Jeffreys, Rick Dees, Jack Lemon, Martin Sheen, Ernest Borgnine, Michelle Lee, Fred MacMurray and two names we haven’t seen and don’t know. It was signed in person, but the original signer and owner passed away so we can’t ask him who those last two names are, so it’s a mystery to be solved.Petty, Tom

Forrest & Michael Gornick , Christine
Signed Check - Christine Forrest of course became Christine Forrest Romero in 1981 when she married director George Romero, but back in 1978 she was an actress and production assistant that just got off a leading role in Romero’s Martin (1977). Here we have an original 3x8 Laurel Tape & Film, Inc. (the production company behind Romero’s films at the time) company check #1010, dated October 6, 1978 and made out to “Chris Forrest” for $120 (petty cash). It’s more than likely a check that was drawn during the time they were making Dawn of the Dead, but it’s endorsed by Michael Gornick (director of photography on Martin and Dawn of the Dead) and Vince Survinski (the Laurel book keeper and Night of the Living Dead “Possie” member) and made out to Chris, so we have it displayed with a Martin promo lobby card. It’s endorsed twice on the back from Christine Forrest, so signed by three different people four times. We have it nicely displayed in a clear archival 11x14 sleeve so you can simply turn it over to see all the autographs on the check.James, Etta

(1893 - 1980) - Terrific B&W photo from Go West Young Man (1936) matted along with a black ink signature of Mae West on an autograph book page. Somebody stuck a little B&W photo on the back of the page and it naturally turned dark and shows through to the signed side of the paper. Still a fantastic signature, but cheaper than we’d normally sell it for thanks to that old tape stain. Matted to an overall 12x18" size.

Signed by 8 Cast Members - From the December 5, 1965 premiere performance of the play, The Playroom, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre comes this 6x9” Playbill Program (containing 64 printed pages including the cover) that is signed by 8 cast members, including talented actors Peter Kastner (1943-2008) who also appeared in stuff like Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and Frightmare; Karen Black (1939-2013) who went on to a great film career; Augusta Dabney (1918-2008) who did a lot of TV work, including a bunch of Soaps; Tom Helmore (1904-1995) who was in some great films, including Vertigo and The Time Machine; Richard Thomas, “John-Boy Walton” himself; Bonnie Bedelia, who’s had a great career as well and can be found in films like The Strange Vengeance of Rosalie, Salem’s Lot, Needful Things and Die Hard 1 and 2; Alan Howard, who was in Ladybug Ladybug, and Little Big man; and Christopher Norris, who appeared in several 70s films, including Airport ’75 and Eat My Dust. All of the autographs are beautiful ballpoint pen signatures, and whoever got the program signed was smart enough to back every page with a blank piece of paper so you don;t get any weird print on the reverse page of the autographs. The program itself nice and clean, and is in Very Good overall condition. Considering who signed it, it’s quite the bargain too.
