Double Feature: Satan's Black Wedding (1975) & Criminally Insane (1975)

SATAN’S BLACK WEDDING (1975) and CRIMINALLY INSANE (1975) - Best known for grim and gritty soft sex features shot in the 60s and 70s, director Nick Phillips put his feet into horror and exploitation territory twice in 1975 and came up with two cult classics in the process. In SATAN’S BLACK WEDDING Mark heads off to the left coast after the sudden death of his sister. He learns that she was researching a book about Satanism and spent lots of time at an abandoned church outside of town. Mark finds out she’s still there and Satan has plans for him as well. In the cult classic CRIMINALLY INSANE, 300 pound “Crazy Fat Ethel” Janowski has just been released from a mental institution to live with her grandmother. After grandma locks away the food so Ethel will stop stuffing her face, she murders the old lady. It isn’t long before Ethel becomes a killer who won’t let anybody come between her and her stomach... But what is she going to do with the bodies that are starting to pile up in the spare bedroom?... Also includes Nick Phillips shot on video cheapie sequel, CRIMINALLY INSANE 2 (1987), along with interviews with the director, featurette, commentary and trailers. DVD
