October 3rd, 4th & 5th, 2003

Hard work pays off I guess. By the time our fourth show rolled around, The Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo was pretty well established as a fan show not to be missed. I was doing my best to search out Guests that had never done this type of thing before, having a great time putting together CW cast reunions for attending fans, and still tweaking what would become the “wasteland formula” for lack of a better term. This time around, in addition to a few first time convention guests, the cast of THE EVIL DEAD, (minus Bruce, because I couldn’t - and still can’t - afford to pay him his fee), made one of their first ever convention appearances. We also celebrated the 35th anniversary of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, and held the first (and only, as far as I know) “Horror Host Wedding” when our adopted host, A. Ghastlee Ghoul, got hitched to the hostess-with-the-mostess, Suspira, in front of family, friends, and fans. Another great time was had by all... And due to fan demand for the past 18 months or so, we scheduled our first Spring Show for the following April, and had it ready to advertise at this show.

Guests for our fourth CW show included:
ROBERT A. BURNS - The man who created the original “Leatherface” made his convention debut this show.
ANTONE DiLEO - DAY OF THE DEAD star made his convention debut this show as well.
BASIL GOGOS - Famous Monsters cover artist made his first CW appearance.
KENNY MILLER - I WAS TEENAGE WEREWOLF, PUPPET PEOPLE, BLOODSTALKERS star.
EVIL DEAD Cast Reunion: Betsy Baker, Hal Delrich, Ellen Sandweiss, Tom Sullivan, and Theresa Tilly (aka Sarah York) made an early convention appearance.
Celebrating 35 Years of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD with: Marilyn Eastman, Karl Hardman, Bill Hinzman, John Russo, Kyra Schon, and Russ Streiner.
By this time, Cinema Wasteland and A. Ghastlee Ghoul seemed to sort of spark a weird “TV Horror Host” revival of sorts, and hosts from all over the Country were heading to Cleveland to be a part of the show for a couple of years now. Thanks to the A. Ghastlee Ghoul/Suspira wedding this show, we hit our peak and had over 20 horror hosts, along with untold show members and sidekicks roaming the hotel all weekend. A once in a lifetime chance for horror host fans in addition to the wedding made for great fun all weekend long.

The EVIL DEAD Cast: Betsy, Hal, Ellen and Theresa. Did they all age well, or am I aging that poorly?... (MM)

Damn, we sure did get a lot of Horror Hosts at early CW show. How many can you name? (MM)
